Introduction The report is about six different documents ranging from three organizations. From each organization we have two different types of documents. The two different types of documents are a letter and a statement. The report will describe each document and evaluate its suitability and any improvements that could be done to enhance the customer satisfaction for all of the documents. All of the documents will be compared with each other to find similarities for example the location of the date.
Also the documents will be compared to find the differences of each document and the differences of each organization with the other organization. Organization 1 The Alliance Leicester letter is set out in a formal layout with the company logo in the top left hand corner of the page. The customer address, which is a standard item of information, is on the left side of the page just under the logo. The date is located on the top right hand corner of the page just under where the card number is shown. The date is a standard item of information that is also present on a letter.
The logo consists of a shape and text. The logo is in the company colours, which are orange and blue. The company colours are used in many places on the letter including the logo also used at the bottom of the page where the company’s contact details are and the copyright note. The colours are also used in the in the letter on right hand side of the page vertically, which holds the advantages of the credit card. The purpose of the letter is to inform the customer and remind them about the benefits available to them after a certain date when they use their credit card.
The letter ensures the customer that Alliance Leicester continues to provide their customers with leading credit card products. As the letter is related to a credit card the letter also has a card number, which is unique and belongs to the customer. The letter is written in a complex form using high level of language skills that are suitable for adults as this letter is aimed towards adults that are above the age of eighteen. The letter is split in two main part one part contains the actual text explaining the letter.
The text has bullet points included in them between the paragraphs that inform the reader of the new advantages available to them. The right hand side of the column has some of the advantages of using the credit card from this particular organization. The letter can be improved in many ways, first of all the letter could be set out in a different manner with out using columns to separate the actual text for the letter. The advantages are displayed on the right hand side of the page in blue and orange.
The key points that are displayed on the right hand side can be put underneath the letter going across the page, which is appealing to the reader. Currently the key points make the letter look more compact together making harder to understand, what the main focus point of the letter. The best point of the letter is the colours that are used. The colours used are orange and blue. These colours are effective as they go well together and make the letter look colourful and appealing to the reader.
However, currently the way the letter is set out, allows the customer to understand the content of the reader easily because of bullet points and subheading being used in the text. Also in the letter there is a list of advantages or features of the credit card, which allows the customer to understand or know what the letter is linked to. The Alliance Leicester Statement has the logo in the same place as the letter which is in the top left hand corner of the page. The logo is in the company colours that are blue and orange. The logo consists of text, which says the organizations name and a shape.
The date is located towards the top right hand corner of the page on the right side of the logo just under where the account number is shown. The date is a standard item of information that is also present on a statement. The company colours are used in many places on the statement including the logo also used as the pale background in the middle of the statement where it shows the previous balance. Also a pale orange background is used where the credit limit is shown in bold just under the amount, which shows what the customer has left to spend.
Overall the colours are well used on the page giving the statement a distinctive view. The contact details are in the top right of the page. The contact details include the phone number and address of the card service company. The statement consists of tables and boxes holding information. The table can be found two thirds down the page holding information on payments and the value of the payment. The principle of the statement is to inform the customer of the current state of their account. It also informs the customer of the payment dates and when they are due with all the cost and details.
