TPS630250   The TPS63025 is a high efficiency, low quiescent current buck – boost converter designed for applications where the input voltage will be higher or lower than the output. The output current will be up to 2A in boost mode and up to 4A in buck mode . The maximum average current in the switch is limited to 4A (typical). The TPS63025 automatically switches between step-down or step-up modes based on the input voltage to regulate the output voltage over the entire input voltage range, ensuring seamless transitions between the two modes. This buck – boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, pulse width modulation (PWM) controller that uses synchronous rectification for maximum efficiency. At low load currents, the converter enters a power-saving mode to maintain high efficiency over the entire load current range. There is a PFM / PWM pin that allows the user to choose between automatic PFM / PWM mode operation and forced PWM operation . During PWM mode, a 2.5MHz fixed frequency is usually used . An external resistor divider can be used to program the output voltage or internally clamp the output voltage on a chip. The converter can be disabled to minimize battery drain. During shutdown, the load is disconnected from the battery.
